BIO:Damon is the estranged brother of Stefan Salvatore. Born in 1840, Damon was the reckless son and a disappointment to their father once he dropped out of the Confederate army. Upon his return, he met and fell for Katherine Pierce, as did his brother, and their competition for her love led to them both becoming vampires and abandoning their family. Over a century later, Damon returned to Mystic Falls and reunited with his brother, where they both similarly fell in love with the much less manipulative Elena. Since the Ripper was resurrected, Damon seems to understand why Stefan is pushing everyone away but cannot quite bring him back from the edge. He is, however, aware that Stefan is keeping Klaus’ coffins hidden in the Witch House. Receiving a warning from Bonnie that Klaus had discovered the location of his family, Damon beat Klaus to the Witch House just in time to move the coffins to an undisclosed new location and had pulled the dagger from Elijah as a failsafe. Thus, the Salvatores still have three of the coffins, and though another Original is awake, they also have possession of a dagger. The bromance with Alaric is back on, but rocky at best, and he is certainly not a fan of Alaric’s new lady friend, Meredith. Damon is also carrying the guilt over his feelings for Elena, but is trying to stay respectful of both her wishes and his duty to his brother even if the temptation is stronger than ever with Stefan’s new careless attitude.
Welcome to Mystic Falls..
The town of Mystic Falls appears to be a boring one, but it is in fact a hub for supernatural activity. As the birth place of the Original vampires and once inhabited by werewolves, it is now home to the second doppelganger and the drama that surrounds her presence. Months ago, the curse on Klaus was broken and, by sacrificing Jenna and Jules, the hybrid species was officially created. By draining her birth father’s life force, Elena was revived. However, Damon was bitten by Tyler while trying to stop Klaus, and Stefan was forced to leave town with Klaus in exchange for the blood which, delivered by Katherine, would save his brother’s life.
Since Stefan left town, things have hardly returned to normal. Elena and Damon have been growing closer while Stefan, becoming the Ripper once again, pushes everyone away. Ghosts appeared around town, teasing Jeremy and Matt with past loved ones and ultimately causing the end of Jeremy and Bonnie’s relationship. Caroline and Tyler have had their ups and downs, not only in their love life but also with their parents. Alaric is still grieving Jenna, though he seems to be on the road to moving on with the mysterious Dr. Fell. Finally, the entire Original family is in town, along with a brief appearance by the hybrids, though half of the family is still residing in coffins.. Since using Mikael failed to kill Klaus, Stefan has stolen the coffins to take revenge on Klaus. And in other original news, Charlotte, the original Petrova is back in town, creating a new love triangle between her, Klaus and Elijah. And to top it all off, Katherine has dared to stick around and cause trouble so long as she can fly under Klaus’ radar.
